The arts are alive and well in Langley!  These groups, schools, venues, etc. are part of our artistic community and resources.  Current shows and productions are listed in the Calendar of Local Events

As well, you can purchase the Langley Arts Directory, a comprehensive guide to the literary, visual and performing arts in Langley City and Township, published annually.  The Directory can be purchased for $5 from the Langley Arts Council (see below), or various arts businesses, with all proceeds benefiting the Langley Arts Council's scholarship fund.  


Resources & Opportunities for Local Artists

  • Langley Community Music School's Summer Opera Program is holding auditions for a fun-filled adaptation of Mozart's The Magic Flute. They need male and female signers aged 13 - 25 with previous vocal/choral training.  Auditions will be held May 10 nd 17, 1 - 3 p.m.  Prepare one song or aria and bring an accompanist.  For further info or to reserve an audition time, call 604-534-2848.

  • Foyer Art, Langley Centennial Museum: call for entries, to encourage and promote local artists.  Contact the museum at 604-888-3922 or download an entry form from their website.  Deadline is June 27, 2003.

    Langley Community Music School is a centre for excellence in music education.     Public school with an alternate, fine arts (dance, drama, music, visual arts and writing) focused program.   LFAS includes grades 1 through 12 (no kindergarten at this time), with an increased arts component, including majors, in the higher grades.  Students from outside the LFAS catchment are accepted, but wait lists are common - call for information.
