The community is one of Langley's newest, with many modern homes and townhouses, excellent amenities and a variety of shops and services all close at hand.  There are lots of choices for the family home, from townhouses to small acreages, with more development underway.  Lots of curving streets and cul-de-sacs keep traffic down in residential areas.

Walnut Grove is served by several elementary schools (see Education) and Walnut Grove Secondary School. Trinity Western University and Kwantlen University College are nearby.  Other community resources include Walnut Grove Community Centre, Sportsplex fitness complex, Colossus movie theatre complex, lots of shopping and parks.  Access to Vancouver and other nearby communities is easy via Highway 1, and will be enhanced by a planned new Fraser River crossing
